She lives in my lap is the ballad of Dorothy Parker in (bad) disguise

you're reaching. people want to hear prince-similarities when they hear something non-prince that they like. that's forever the case on these boards. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine
purple music does the same to my brain i'm high, so high

Sorry, I don't hear "Lady Cab Driver" in it at all. But since you made this a "versus" thread, I'll have to go with LCD.

She lives in my lap is the ballad of Dorothy Parker in (bad) disguise thank god, finally someone else realises it is dorothy parker he's rippin off, not she's always in my hair... ...these things matter, ya know!

I hear you, the beat/tempo is very similar...

I would also like to point out that the LP is very good, have to admit that it does have a very "Prince" way about it. They must have been listining to Rainbow Children and 1999 through Lovesexy for inspiration (with some EWF and Marvin Gaye). Is it the "vibrate song" that hits me like the interlude of backwards music from Purple Rain all fleshed out or the "She's Alive" song reminding me of for some reason of Wedding Feast.
Well what do U kno, somebody came out with a Grammy Award winning Prince tribute LP [This message was edited Sat Mar 13 22:07:22 2004 by lmas]

She lives in my lap is the ballad of Dorothy Parker in (bad) disguise Well if you wanna find the ORIGIN of Dorthy Parker....listen to Stevie Wonder's "That Girl" and you will hear an uncanny similarity, yet still both are 2 of my favorite songs... ______________________________________________
