Okay then Anji - you teasing us or speculating?
In other words what is this track listing from? A CD you have compiled yourself or something you speculate to be coming out of the Park sometime soon? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Anj;
Sequencing is an art unto itself sometimes. Unfortunately, the material you've picked is a hodge podge from many different musical 'eras' and it's very difficult to create continuity of progression out of it. This would end up being similar to the Crystal Ball set. A good sequence also depends on exactly what you are trying to achieve. For instance, if this was to be proposed as an actual release from the official Club, then Empty Room would not be suggested as it has already been 'released'. Same with We Can Funk, I Hear Your Voice, Love Thy Will be Done and Open Book. However, if this was to be a fan release, I would still try and create some sort of theme out of it. Especially including the 1986 recording of We Can Funk; you can't have that stand alone without Data Bank/Girl O My Dreams/Can't Stop This Feelin I Got - they're of a 'set', really. And if you're going to include something as sophistocated as Large Room, you should pair it with equally progressive tracks, like Fat Lady. Where's Rebirth of the Flesh? And if you include that then you should go in a less band oriented direction with track choices and include stuff from that post Revolution period... See? It's daunting to create a single project out such disparate parts. Personally, I prefer making compilations that contain material of the same period. Charade was a great boot release for that reason.

I think that if you pick an over-riding mood or vibe, then the source material fits together, even if it comes from different eras.

Jess, I'd like you to take a step back and consider this a mainstream release for the general public (as opposed to for fans). Essentially, I want you to imagine giving this 2 CD set to a friend of yours who knows nothing about Prince.
In that sense, and using the basic sequence of tracks provided, do you have any alternate ideas for track selection and the mix? love

In that case: DISC 1 Leaving For New York Purple Music Wonderful Ass Moonbeam Levels Extraloveable I Wonder Our Destiny Roadhouse Garden All My Dreams DISC 2 God Is Alive Witness 4 The Prosecution We Can Funk In A Large Room With No Light Empty Room I Hear Your Voice Open Book Love, Thy Will Be Done The Grand Progression I might add Rebirth of the Flesh to the end of Disc One and Goodman as the second track on Disc Two if you could expand the discs to ten tracks.
