It's cool that his home town is honouring him like that. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

So, how can his fans buy copies of this special section?

for those of U who cant get to a newsstand that carries the tribune, check this out:
the Star Tribune offers a service where you can "buy" a digital version of the day's issue. So you could log on Sunday and get the issue for 50 cents. http://www.newsstand.com/...%20Tribune Back issues are also available for $1.00 The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

Dammit, all this Princemania is gonna have me running around like a fool all year, I can see this now. Goin' to weird suburbs to look at his ass on IMAX, schlepping to concerts in Champaign, lookin' for newsstands that sell MPLS papers in Chicago, watchin' dang talk shows at all hours of the day...SHEESH.
MORE, PLEASE. | |

It's about time. This town doesn't respect him. Minnesotans don't give two shits that HE put this state on the map. Period. "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.

I wonder how popular this insert is going to be if the people on this board no what they are talking about.

HELLO!!!??? MPLS doesn't not hate PRince. Minnesotan's are just pretty quiet about him. He can drive around this town without getting mobbed. People stare at him when he comes through the airport but no one hunts him down. If you don't believe that his hometwon doesn't love him just check out his attendance numbers anytime he brings a tour to town. White bread MN doesn't hate Prince they just don't shower him with adoration. Downtown and Uptown MPLS, though, he is a God-especially to the local music scene. "New Power slide...."

How is CJ gonna write 10 whole pages? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Hey! What about the ORG? It sounds like there will be tons of news on Prince, but the news section is only updated once or tiwice a week. And RollingStone.com has no less than three articles on the man this week, for instance.
Surely, if the Star Tribune can devote ten pages, the Org can be a better news source than it's been for a while, right?

Yea it's tough, you get used to the BS too I'm sure. In Boston we always see Peter Wolf of J. Geils jumping onstage at concerts or members of Aerosmith walkin around and you kind of get used to it ad maybe don't appreciat them as much. I used to love J. Geils, but Peter Wolf tries so hard to still be cool with the local scene that he aint anymore. ______________________________________________

hmmm, we must live in seperate MPLS's Granted the Xenophobia shows were last minute and poorly promoted, but after days on sale, you could still get GREAT seats to the Orpheum shows (which were eventually canceled) I wouldn't say this city HATES him, but I don't think it's one of his strongest fanbases anymore. I think part of the problem is us ungrateful fans. After standing in the 40 below weather for 5 hours one too many nites only to be let into Paisley to see the Larry Graham revue, people jumped ship. Many of the people I saw down at Paisley in the earlier years got sadly burnt-out and laugh at me when I see them and admit I haven't given up yet. On the plus side, though...Chris shows P a lot of love in the Strib. He always calls attention to the latest release and gives him generally good write-ups. whatevs, it don't matter to me cos I AM EXCITED FOR THIS SUNDAY! WAHOOOOO!
