March 6 in Prince history: Purple Medley, The Undertaker vid and The Sacrifice of Victor vid released This thread started as a quiz, but no-one seemed to care (or maybe no-one knew the answer), so this is a discussion thread of one awful release, one amazing release and one coulda-been-better release, all released on March 6, 1995 in the UK (and perhaps elsewhere in Europe):
For me, this was the lowpoint in his career until 1999: The New Master came along: But this was completely redeemed the very same day with the release of this, containing some of the rawest, best Prince jamming ever: The Undertaker And then there was a mixed release, with some great live music but way too many average guest appearances: The Sacrifice Of Victor Hmm, for some reason the Undertaker and SOV images aren't showing up, so I've included the links for the curious. Alright, a clue, since this thread is sinking.
The single is one of the worst in Prince history (almost without question). All three releases were set to tie in with the current tour. | |
