The last 2 times I cried:
At the Press conference when he played Sign O' The Times with so much more passion than expected him to and my realizing that he was playing music from an era where his music was the one thing that helped me not to feel totally lost in my world. At Bebe Kings after the LA Screening of the Vegas DVD when he and the band launched into SHHHHH. It was funny cuz this girl standing right next to me saw my eyes and grabbed my hand and when I turned to her she had tears too. She simply mouthed the words..... "I know". 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Always;but especially when he did JOY IN REPETITION at the NY aftershow. It just Hit me HARD! And at the Last Celebration I was pretty much Overcome while watching him but I would say the CULMINATION on the Last Day was the End to a BEAUTIFUL WEEK and MANY BEAUTIFUL thoughts of GENUINE EXCtasy.

It's happened to me a couple of times. Once when he was playing 'one of us' on the JOTY tour. I was against the stage and something about the lyrics and the way he sang it (not to mention coupled with the emotional/physical exhaustion of waiting in line all damn day!). Other times, he just washes over me and I remember how long I've been into his music. Nostalgic, sappy crap I suppose...

Once. 'Twas on the Act II Tour in Stockholm. I was just really caught up in how great that show turned out to be - no Game Boyz, just a great stage show and some really good music. So by the time Sign O' The Times started, tears of joy poured down my cheeks.

Listening to the live version of Purple Rain from the last show of the PR tour in '85, I came damn close to tears...it had been years since I'd been interested in that song, and hearing that 20+ minute version completely blew me away in a way I wasn't expecting.

First time was the Lovesexy tour during Anna Stesia. Standing in the front row watching him raise towards the heavens as steam was all around me...I felt like I was on a cloud with him. That moment changed how this former Catholic viewed my relationship with God.

I cried twice....during Joy In Repetition at the Fillmore. But it wasn't the song he was playing...it was because my fucking feet were killing me because I had been standing so fucking long! Man, my dogs were hurtin'!

Prince has never moved me to tears. Kinda strange because I get choked up and cry like a baby girl on a regular basis to music by other artists. but never to Prince.
About the closest I've come is listening to 7. I dunno. Maybe it's the stereo. I have a very good, high-end audio system that truly shows ALL warts in a recording and Prince isn't exactly known for a "clean" sound in his studio work. Maybe that's too distracting? Live -- I've only seen him a couple times and been pretty far from the stage. I was impressed and moved, but never to the point of crying. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

last August when Australian dates were announced I went out and bought aladdin and rave dvds to get in the right mood. It had been so long, I had just got back into P because a friend lent me TRC, and it was like coming back to your family, an overwhelming feeling of relief. I cried throughout watching both dvds. But when the concerts were on it was like I got it all out my system already and was simply elated during the 7 hours (over 2 days) I got to see our guy perform. And elated is an understatement!!!

The guy standing next to me at the Ellen taping was crying when Prince started Nothing Compares. While I understood the emotion, I admit, for a moment I was a little scared too.

OK, here's mine
I had been a fan since around 1980, and got a little bored with him by Lovesexy. Hadn't been to a concert in a while, until one day, I think it was 1997 or 98, I just happened to listen to the radio, and Prince was playing at the university THAT DAY. I rushed home, bought tickets for my friend and I, found a babysitter, and we were off. We were let in, and we were 2nd row, center, the whole night. I hadn't ever been that close to Prince, and I got VERY emotional, not fanatical, but awestruck. It was the best night of my life, and I've been re-hooked ever since.

I see women cry at concerts and I never understand it. I saw this woman at Xenphobia who was flat out sobbing when Prince started the Question of U. She was crying like her mother died or someone was beating her ass. I am sure she had some emotional problems though. Why do people cry at concerts? ...cause FACE said so!!!

What an insensitive ass How do you know what the song might have meant in her life to her? Just because you're standing there with no feelings wishing Larry and Dez were back doesn't mean that other's aren't a little deeper.

Yes...
In 1985 after being away from my life and my love to serve my country And watching on a VCR tape - NOT really live but on a VCR I owned and it was to me...amazing The Purple Rain Live Video had me in tears within the first song.. It was my screaming Beatles moment at the age of 20. And he continues to make my heart race when I watch him live - in person or on TV He is simply the pinnacle of performers in music. LIVE4LOVE The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

I cried when at his Avery Fisher Hall Concert in NYC, his first show here after 9-11 when he made a comment about that day and he sang Purple Rain and then Sometimes it Snows in April. I think everyone was crying. "It's hard 4 me 2 say what's right when all I want to do is wrong..."

I cried at "One Nite Alone" in LA which I thought at the time was just my first reaction to actually seeing him in concert. But then when I saw him at the Aladin in Vegas (same show) I cried again. Especially when he sang Purple Rain. It was funny cause I couldnt help it at all, the tears just flowed. My best friend would look over at me and just laugh. But I kept it together at the HOB a few weeks ago cause I was with Pej and RD and just couldnt lose it in front of those two. I would have never heard the end of it! He calls me "Holi" cuz he says everyday w/ me is like a Holiday...
