Not in my opinion. Those were all good keyboard players. The only Token Whiteboy that Prince ever had was Bobby Z.

All of his bandmembers are and have been tokens in the sense that Prince picks them deliberately. They all serve their purposes, one of which is to play the type of music he wants them to play.

Bobby Z wasn't the best drummer. Prince used the Linn drum machine. All Bobby had to do was follow along and hit the cymbals at the right time.

He wasn't hired for his skills. He was hired because he fit in with the image that Prince was after. Prince wanted a multi-racial, mult-gender bank like Sly and the Family Stone. That's one of the main reasons he hired Wendy for the band, even though there were far better guitar players who would have loved to have joined that band and went along for the ride on the whole Purple Rain scene.
