Prince Plays Hendrix?

I would love 2 see prince do a 3 piece band like JIMI HENDRIX and take that on tour and play lots of hard kick ass jams like never be4,plus it would be something different, from what he has ever done.

Check out the undertaker video, he's done it (The New Power Trio).

It was good and jammy, but I don't think he took it too seriously. I agree if he took something like this out on tour it would kick some major ass.

A power trio tour would be a dream come true. He'd need Michael Bland back for that. I saw Bland play an all night Hendrix tribute a few years back with rotating guitarists. That mofo was Mitch Mitchell reincarnated. And Mitch aint dead.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

as much as I dig Michael B.....mr John Blackwell kicks his ass big time....and thats not just cos I got a drumstick (not a chicken 1 either) from him in sydney last year (and yes he signed it!!!)....JB is a drummer's drummer with talent and charisma....not 2 say Michael B doesn't have that.....just my humble opinion...although Sheila is the best looking drummer smile
BTW JB was a very nice man to talk 2...softly spoken articulate and humble.....in a word - cool!
and joshy - that was a classic getting him 2 call a friend on yr cellphone...wish I'da thought of dat....my wife woulda loved it!!! (although she wasn't sure who he was till I explained smile

Blackwell is a tight drummer, no doubt. But, Bland is a great, powerful drummer in his own right. I mean, the "Shhh" intro is no joke. Did he play loud? Yes. He also was mixed pretty loud, but he was great at BRINGIN' IT. If I were going to have a funk band, sure, gimme Blackwell.

But, if I were going to have that rock trio? Michael Bland all the way, baby.
