Surprisingly, I like the latest NPG line-up.......

I mean, after seeing them on Leno and seeing how the music sounded so great, I'm really digging this line-up. I'd never thought I'd say that either. I mean I still love the old school groups like The Revolution, but come on these guys can rock it too. Have I lost it? Maybe, but I'll tell you this: Prince is working with some very fine, very talented, and very tight musicians for this tour. So now I definitely have to see Prince live. Not just for him, but for the peole that are contributing to his wonderful music.

I agree it's a good line-up of Musicians. It's Fun that Prince has 3 Keyboard players and I dig seeing Maceo and Candy and Greg. It's a real Cool line-up. Going to be an Awesome Tour.

I agree, I like the core of the band (Rhonda/John B/Renato) but there's no need for the extra 2 keyboardists.

But ya know with 80s bands NEW WAVe they used to Employ more than one Keyboard player for That ELECTRONIC sound. Maybe Prince is TRYING This. Anyway, if you had to Omit some Players who would ya let go?

Well, I'll disagree with you there. I don't like seeing other guitar players up there w/ P. One has been ok at times and added to the sound, but there should never be more than P & one more guitar on stage, ever!

I would let go the recent keyboard additions. Keep Renato & let the horns fill out the rest of the sound. Keep it simple & real.....

Real ass kickin' that is!

I think Prince is just trying to expand his sound by having additional keys players. Remember, Prince does just about everything, so that takes many people to fill out that sound.

Anyways, them New Wave groups employed mostly keyboardists because they were trying to create an electronic version of an organic band. Insted of the typical guitar-bass-drum-maybe some brass too, they were doing that with the latest technology. Take it from me, I know. wink

So yeah, I definitely wanna see this line-up. That is to say, if I do get the chance to see them. smile
