I couldn't even believe ppl thought he was dissing Mel. Watch it again, Prince was obviously just really happy to be there (not to mention that the fans screaming for him must've been great for him) and so he was being really personable and lighthearted. He even touched Mel's hand in a really friendly way after he made the little jokes, so how is that dissing him exactly? The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Woohooo! What a fantastic per4mance!!! Amazing! Compare that with The Work at Leno's show. This was one of his best tv-perfomances imo.

Because of Prince's JW belifs..he don't like mel's movie. As Much as I am a constant fan of Prince... It was a low class move. If he wants to debate theology then do that respectfully. I know that some on this site don't like the passion, I respect those opinions. I just think that P was being a jerk. Plus I can't get into his new elitist music pillosophy. He talks about JMJ in Muzakology... JMJ would be just another un-schooled non educated musician to P ...if he wasn't alredy a legend. SNSL Where,o, where do you see criticism in Prince's attitude yesterday? He was very cool to MEl Gibson, very respectful!! Mel seemed surprised a bit though. But I think they both respect each other's artistry. "Goodness will guide us when love is inside of us... The Force will be with you, always"

I thought the whole thing went a long great. It's amazing how people got tension from the interplay with Mel and Prince. Mel being on so long screwed the comedian, not Prince. I can't imagine Prince would have performed twice or explained musicology in more detail. I did like his sell on the new tour. 'Bring the family... cause we're going to play real music...'

I also loved the part where he jabbed at Mel Gibson's lame movie, "Wanna go see a movie?" or something, that was hilarious! The only bad part was where that ugly fat guy got up and waddled around with the Chinese girl hitting the tamborione. That was the best part! Couldn't help but chuckle... Like watching a cartooon.

jpav said: Prince just seems like, well, "Prince" this last year or so...like he's comfortable being who he is. He has aged incredibly well, not just phyically, but from a style and sound standpoint. Playing with this band on the ONA tour has brought him back to being the great bandleader that he is, and away from the loops and fads that dogged him for 10 years, between psedo-rap and commercial pandering, I think taking up the cause for real musicianship is just what he should be doing.
Tonight Prince was fun and funky, and that's what I love - What can I say, after all these years, the guy just makes me happy. To watch him do what he does is as sood as it gets.... I think Prince, this band, and the tone of this tour are gonna mesh beautifully - I can smell the vibe, can't you??! See y'all there... No question Prince found his groove back with this band, though he's more conventional sounding.

SNSL
Just because he mentions JMJ in the song, DON'T automatically assume it's a diss... it's a compliment about JMJ.... "take u're pick..a turntable...or a band... If it ain't Chuck D, or Jam Master...JAY! they losin', cause we got a PHD in advanced BODY MOVIN'"
Yo Rev, I see your Point of view. But you got me wrong . I don't think it was a lyrical diss... i just don't dig his pillosophy. Like the way he talked about "music programmers". Ya know hip hop iinvolves alot of programmed music. Thats just my opinion. You are welcome to yours. Nuff respect. SNSL

hehehe yep that made me laugh & do a 2nd take 2.... any1 know or care who that was? Seemed 2b a funky dresser hehe Anyway i enjoyed the pre4mance... it was soothing & funky @ the same time & there were not a lot of screamers in the audience so im thankful! I could finally hear the song But i kept getting distracted by Prince's jacket.... i luved the damn thing, im telling u it would look killa on me hehe & talk about all smiles... seems 2 me like he liked singing the song & being there stating his mind as much as i liked watching it! 2 cool.... im upset tho that they cut his interview short... when he was clearly comfortable! It was interesting 2 hear about the dynamics of Mel Gibson's movie but i would have liked it if Jay gave equal time 2 his guests! freaky friday edit [This message was edited Fri Feb 27 22:56:59 2004 by harmony] Got Gackt??!
