Lyrically, it's Gold. But the guitars in Purple Rain can't be beat. [This message was edited Wed Feb 25 18:24:22 2004 by Welcome2daRevolution] CALL ME A DREAMER 2! | |

Whoa, you really think so?? I'd say Purple Rain's lyrics are better, easily. I absolutely LOVE both songs to death, but the winner here is the God-like Purple Rain. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Gold is a much better thought out song. The chant is even cooler. Also, if you read the lyrics purple rain DOESNT really make much sense, Gold at least has an ideal its tryin to portray. Its actually ABOUT somthing. WTF IS purple rain anyway? If you can give me a non subjective answer for that, ill digress. I personally enjoy listening to Gold more than I do Purple Rain....
I love the pace, I love the lyrics, I love the messages, I love the video, I love the chorus, I love the build up and most of all, I love the mutha funkin' super jammin' guitar solo! Gold all the way! "These are the days... these are the days..."

I'm kinda thinking the version on The Purple Medley is cooler "These are the days... these are the days..."

I thought that harmony was great - but yeah, like you said, it's missing the solo so it's not better... "These are the days... these are the days..."
