GLASTONBURY: NEWS FROM THE NPGMC

Unfortunately PP7 informed me tonight that Prince will not be playing at Glastonbury this summer, despite reports that Prince promised to play there this year. It is however expected the Musicology tour is coming over later in the year (like 2002 all over again!)

Interestingly, they also hinted that by putting his album out to mutiple labels he is playing a game with the record companies to get them where he wants them, where he can dictate the rules (but what about RAVE??). It seems a no risk strategy so its probably worth a try.

There has also been a huge Upsurge in members joining this week, following recent appearences by Prince.

Yeah, it makes sense. Especially since he is playing such huge venues, people (like two girls in my office) that wouldn't have normally joined, joined this morning so they can get presale tix. Prince is a really good business man, eh?

Well, spanky he's probably got better advisors now, as there have been some momentous screw ups in the past. Good for him though, its great to see him come back to the public eye

YEah, we oldschool fans have taken the fact that he hasn't been commercially successful so personal in the past, that I think now we can finally feel good about his presence in the public eye--it does seem that we are in a sense losing him though does it not? neutral

Like once he belongs to the mainstream again, we are just faces in the crowd. Or do you disagree?

I see what you mean spanky, the intimacy is good, but i didnt like it when the club used to cost a fortune and it was like a cult for celebration tix etc.

At least now he's back in the public eye, as i missed that and its quite exciting to see him make the news again. Its also good because now he wants to become popular again so its likely Musicology will be good, hopefully a Diamonds and Pearls of this era.
