I wont go over what ppl have already reported about the press party. Although I will say this, Musicology is HOT!!! The main reason why I'm reporting this info is 2 let u no what happened behind The El Rey building. As we left the building we notice some ppl hanging out in the back. I asked if Prince was ready 2 come out and they said yes. I looked over the brick wall and there was his getaway car. He had some black blankets covering the back window as well as some blocking the view where he was going 2 enter the car. There was some paparrazi heads awaiting his exit only 2 give up soon after we arrived.
Some of the El Rey sucurity would come out every now an again but would not give up any info. At one point Renato came out 2 smoke a cancer stick and chatted with some fans across from us. Finally one of the security dudes gave up some info and said that Prince was practicing inside for the Leno performance on Thursday. we could here him jamming.
Then towards the end of our camping out, security came out and started 2 hold up the black blankets which led us 2 believe that Prince was finally coming out after 2 hrs of waiting. They told us that as long as we were there, he would not come out. After about 15 minutes of them holding the blankets, one of Prince's roadies (I think) came to the car and got his guitar and went back in. A fellow fan across they way motioned me saying that Prince is leaving out the front. No sooner then that, one of Prince's security gaurds came out and got in the car and zoomed off. They fooled us!!! Homeboy even had a smirk on his face b4 entering the car as if 2 say "we got u suckers!!!". I'm sorry 2 report that we did not c Prince. However, I did get it on video tape. Some of it atleast.
2 whoever wants a copy, just send me an org note and I'll respond with directions on how 2 get this little gem of a video. It's already set and ready 2 go 4 ur viewing pleasure. Hope 2 hear from some of u.
