Prince on the Muppets Tonight Show

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone (well those who said hey).

Anywho, did any of you see the Muppets Tonight Show that Prince was on?
I laughed my arse off at the begining. The Muppet that had the butt-cheeks cut out of his pants and Rizzo covering him up. Fuuuunnny. Plus Prince performed She Gave Her Angels, fantastic song.

Great Prince moment! I watched it at Mauve's place a few years back. I'm pretty sure that he sang Starfish and Coffee there too?

I heard this was recorded just after Boy Gregory passed away, i don't know if that's fact. I find it hard to enjoy for that reason. Somebody tell me that isn't true, just so i can laugh at Gonzo's assless pants!

I'm sure it was prior to this. Emancipation promotion was done after this happened.

I believe that his child died during the promotion of 'Emancipation' so i think that's wrong.
I could be wrong.

I love this episode and I have it on tape. I've seen it a million times and I never get tired of it. I think mostly it's because of the Muppets though because I am a huge Muppet fan, so the combination of Muppets and Prince was just about enough to make me shit my pants when I first heard about it.

I LOVED Prince on Muppets Tonight smile

He was funny, very good actor 9that has to be kinda hard to do with a puppet)

Starfish & Coffee video was great smile

I think he did this for his son at the time sad

BUT it is in my top 5 TV appearences of Prince cool

it was 1997. he was promoting emancipation. but he is always 2 steps ahead of the game. prince played she gave her angels, minus the guitar coda. it was a great teaser, first time i ever heard the song. i was juiced when it was on CB in crystal clarity with that blazing guitar solo at the end.

"She Gave Her Angels" is one of my all-time favorite songs, but unfortunately I've never seen it!
