vashity?

vashity? your copy of 1999 must have some sorta weird typographical error or sumfin...

but seriously...i dunno who vashti was. the only vashti i know of is the orger.

Here is a story about that Vashti I fpound:

I got the news today, oh boy.....ever since I read the liner notes of 1999 way
back in 1982 I have always said my "stage name" will be Vashti. In the 1999
liner notes Prince says "my love to Vashti..". I didnt want his love, I
wanted that odd name.I was always saying "when I hit it big I will change my
name to Vashti". people would ask what it meant etc and all I could say was
"I dont know but its inspired from a Prince record "...my friend even made me
one of those wooden family name peice that you hang on your doorway in woodshop
lol. For the last almost 20 years it has been an in joke about my stage
name. A week ago I was to meet some friends at this brewery and I came late (
fashionably) and was sort of waiting in this make-shift line to get in
looking sort of jaded as in "everyones inside already"..and I hear someone
call out "Vashti! We are over here!" as an in joke to get my attention and I
left the line and just walked in through the side ..thats how bad that name is
engrained in me and my friends lives at the oddest moments.....but the real
odd thing is just tonight I found out in the King James
( not Jams--hi prince17days!) in Esther 1:9 there is this beautiful queen
named "Vashti" whom the King, Ahasuerus, who reigned from India to even unto
Ethiopia, wanted to come out so everyone could see how beautiful she was.
Miss Vashti wasnt havin' it. She didnt come out and the kings cabinet members
etc wanted her to be punished..so Esther eventually became the queen etc. to
spite Vashti and because of Vashti , other women were to be obedient and fawn
on their husbands etc...oh man. I took the name of an Indian queen who got her
walkin papers.
