Racy's not cool anymore says Prince http://www.onetel.net/new...sid=N32158
Racy's not cool anymore says Prince Prince seems to have eschewed door-to-door Jehovah's Witness duties in favour of a return to the limelight of late. Following his performance at The Grammys with Beyoncé, the diminutive star appears as a guest on The Tavis Smiley Show aired this Thursday in the US where he discusses the risqué tendencies of current acts, Eurweb reports. "Anytime you have to rely on raciness alone, you'll get the audience you deserve, " Prince told the host. "Cursing was cool when nobody was doing it, just a couple of people. If everyone wears the same clothes, then it ain't cool. You're trying to be different. One can't be different in being racy today. It's not interesting anymore. Sexiness was in the mind, in your imagination." 2.00pm Wednesday 18 February 2004 © 2004 mrib ----- Hey very cool comments, Prince.... I like this "Sexiness was in the mind, in your imagination." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't think Prince EVER relied on raciness alone. I think that's his point. He did the whole thing at a time when it wasn't being done by every act. The overt sexuality was like the icing on the musical cake. Nowadays, everyone's just giving us icing. Prince always had more substance than that.
Nowadays, he doesn't need to do it. He always sets himself aside from the musical pack, and the only way to do that is to set aside the over-the-top sexuality. I honestly think he would be doing this, even if he hadn't become a JW. Sexuality and Sensuality are still a part of his music and performance, its just not as pronounced. To me, its more refined and interesting that way. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm not feelin' this whole Jehovah's Witness thing he's converted to, I'm glad he has calmed down and got more polite, but one thing I don't want to hear from him, Vanity, or the average joe who gets into religion is them talking and looking down on your sins when they used to do it and didn't stop until they were either forced to or they finally reached their limit. Just like they wouldn't want someone bringing their past up, then don't try to send everyone else to hell because you probably going to hell right with us for all the shit you did in your past and probably is still doing now but ain't got caught. When I see him live or on tv, I sometimes wish he would go back to his naughty ways, but when you get older you slow down. Personally, I wish he would choose another religion, but more power to him.

It just doesn't add up to me.
