Does Prince have a sense of humor?

Or is he all serious and brooding all the time like certain orgers around here?

I think he has one of those dry sense of humors, that is so dark that you'd probably think he's just said something very cruel, but then you'd realize that it was just him attempting to be sarcastic and smug.
...he's so cute when he's smug...

No way. Prince can be a funny dude. You've ssen him live and some of the funny stuff he does. Also, you see a very humorous side to him as Christopher Tracy in UTCM.

Prince has an AMAZING sense of humour. You can hear it in some of his songs and you can most definitely see it in his movies.

Prince has a very distinctive, quirky, sick humor. Take for example in his 91 RS interview where he say's, "You can always renegotiate a contract, all you have to say is, 'you know what? I think I'll make my next album a C&W album!" Or take one of my favorites, the anectode form a recent biography. A photographer was sent by WB to take pics of him, he suggested to prince what to wear, prince got pissed. Said he didn't like any of his pictures in the portfolio, said REM and all the rest looked like cowboys. Then he told the photographer he could dress him up "I could make you look real good." Funny as hell to me. He might take himself too seriously but he definitely has a sense of humor, most of all he's just funny as hell even when he aint trying to be. He cracks me up all the time, he's a damn nut. But I love him.

Listen to the opening of "Vicki Waiting". Check out his banter in almost any concert. I think he's hysterical.

Ask Weird Al if he has a sense of humor. Prince is the only artist who wouldn't let Al do a parody song.

He didn't want a talentless half-wit doing a parody of his song. Most artists wouldn't like the idea of their art being exploited in order for somebody to make a quick buck and get a little fame.
Does that mean they don't have a sense of humour?
confuse

Personally i think Prince has a great sense of humour, though he does tend to take himself a little too seriously.

Not only that, why can't al just respect it if someone doesn't want someone else to use their song? He get's hurt by it and mentions it in public every chance he gets. Eminem turned him down and he did a similar interview cutup parody with him as interviewer and mean spirited jibes, using direct quotes to his made up questions. Seems like he's the one who takes himself too seriously. Also, he's a punk, when coolio got up in his face after he made a parody of his song without permission, he whined his way out of an ass whuppin. he's a no talent trying to ride the coatails of whoevers hot.

The man is like 4 foot 11 without the heels...of course he has a sense of humor. Most short people have to have a sense of humor; I know I do. lol It may be a dry one, but I do believe that he has one.

Interesting question. He likes to crack jokes (see the spoof phone calls of the maxi single of 'Cream', the segues on 'Exodus', etc, etc) but can he take a joke?

Remember his face at that award ceremony when Holly Johnson joked that he'd had phone sex with him? See BBC documentary "Prince's Millions" if you haven't.

I seem to remember he gave the Simpsons permission to do "My Name Is Bart" for their album. However, it was shit and they decided not to release it. When they changed their minds a few years later (after the name change) he turned them down, I believe.

I wonder if he ever saw his Spitting Image puppet?
