What was Prince really sayin' when he came out with POPlife was he saying 'Im a star and Ur not so know Ur place cos everyone can't be on top'. Prince kind of said this in the song Free when he sings 'be glad 4 what U have and what U got'.
Is Prince the Nouveau Riche-Is Prince saying 2 everyone "let them eat cake" does Prince actually see himself as a real live royal Prince??

I always took Poplife as a kind of "It’s lonely at the top” sort of lament. Look at some of the other songs he wrote around that time period. I think he was saying this again in Dance On too.
