Musicology - What is it? Is it a single track or an album or both?
If it is a single track has anybody heard it? Has Musicology had any official confirmation that it exists? [This message was edited Thu Feb 12 10:51:30 PST 2004 by MingMongCharlie] How can a non-musician discuss the future of music

It's a single track because Prince has played it when he visited a fan gathering in Minneapolis and at a Paisley party and he has recorded a video for the song when he invited NPGMC members to attend as extras.

It definitley a song, and the rumoured title to his forthcoming CD. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

All I know is the b-side is a slammin' little ditty called "Ming-Mong Charlie" - wait a minute, that's YOUR name!!! Are you Prince? No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I heard the live version at an aftershow in Melbourne last October and it rocked live. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Yes i took my name from this track. There are two versions are Ming Mong Charlie flying about. I guess this is the studio version on the b-sise of Musicology. There is also an aftershow version in circulation. How can a non-musician discuss the future of music

When watching the Gram's last night... It said summit like, 'The Grammys Featuring...'
When Prince was mentioned a short vid clip was played that looked very 'music video' and he was wearing his cool new suit. Is this the Musicology video? I'm not dumb... I just ain't seem it yet!

No no no, ask Susan Rogers..
the song he ORIGINALLY recorded was "Ming-Mong Charlie..." - however, he listened to it and decided it was just too funky for the world to bear, so he erased it and re-recorded it as "Ming-Mang Charlie." Cheesus. Learn yer fucking facts, mmkay? I'm pissed he's finally releasing the STUDIO version of this track...the aftershow live one kicks its ass in more ways than 7. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

OK this discussion has now gone a little off topic. Would anybody be so kind as to start a new thread about the exact origins of Ming-Mong Charlie... or is it Ming-Mang Charlie?
