How Has Prince Most Affected Your Love Life? The Greatest Romance ...
How's this for a Valentine's Day to remember: My wife, who I met in the AOL chatroom Paisley Park when she lived in New York and I lived in Los Angeles, gave me a V-Day card and inside it were color file-card size images in order that simulated going to the NPG Music Club Web site and clicking through all the stages it takes to get to the Backstage room. The last image was a combination of Prince, a heart and the Golden Gate Bridge and it said we were going to have the time of our lives in San Francisco at the Filmore this weekend! That is too much and I will never forget it. I have been a diehard Prince fan since 1978 (have purchased every single release on its first day of availability, along with many "rarities," and have seen him perform at least 20 times) and she has been one since 1984. "Damn U" was the first dance selection at our wedding in 2000. I am lucky to have found my soulmate and I hope Prince realizes how much he touches people's lives like ours. I am sure Prince has impacted many of your Love lives. Care to share??? Peace, Scott If you've got funk, you've got style.

Well, I'm not a fan anymore, but his music has certainly marked a lot of important moments in my life, and my lovelife... I remember a pretty sexy and scandalous sex thing while listening to The Scandalous Sex Suite. At the same time, probably his most significant song to me ever is "When Doves Cry". And related to that one, i remember one particular episode about a break-up. If you want details, without pretending my then girlfriend and i were facing each other crying and about to break up and suddenly this song started playing on my PA. It was truly hard feeling how we were more or less replaying the song with our own lifes... For all this and more, Prince music will always be an important part of my life:-(

Sweet story.
The only way that I can think of that Prince has affected my love life has been in a negative way. My ex-boyfriend complained that I spent too much time on the org. This was years ago when I was just lurking and not even posting. He gave me plenty of shit about it. I was like... Prince was here before you and he will be here after you. That's why his ass is an ex. No one comes between me and my little Prince. **************************************************
Pull ya cell phone out and call yo next of kin...we 'bout to get funky......2,3 come on ya'll

There was this hot girl i saw working at a resturant, my sister worked there too, and told me about her.
So i was determind to go back two nights later and ask her out, and I was so nervous, cause this girl was a total knockout. Well I had been listening to a lot of Prince, and for some reason it just turned me into a real confident skinny Motherfucker with a high voice. So I just went in all bad ass sweet and said, "I think ur cute, and want to take u out" Bam, immediatly she said, "YES!" [This message was edited Thu Feb 12 11:03:42 PST 2004 by Jem]

Thank you, pal. Apreciated. Your story in contrast is pretty funky, especially the line "... his ass is an ex..."
I'm glad you liked my story. I've rejected Prince and his music after 16 years being a fan. The turning point being NPG Music CLub year II. More than anything else, the Music Club disaster and his religious beliefs. I truly understand how each and everyone of us has his own destiny in life, and because of that i came to terms that after so many important moments with Prince in my life he parted one way i parted the other. Lately, and especially since the other day when I was packing up my remaining Prince CD's and held in my hands the hologram cover of D&P, I reflected and my mind went back all the way to the joyous year of 1991 when i just lvoed the feeling of having that particular cover in my hands. That, and the Grammy performance, has made me feel the need and anticipation of maybe a new album so good, religious banter free, that I may be tempted to buy it and love it maybe even in a deeper way than when i was a fanatic of him. I'm in an emotional position where I am open and eager that Prince makes me fall in love with his music again...

P is my man and he's all i need (until I start feenin' 'round 2 in 'da mornin' and the CD stops and my memory keeps playin' "Come, no more will u cry" ...over n over n my head) sorry. i had 2 go there "Pedro offers you his protection."

I'm a fan since '84...met my(now) hubby in '85 and he was a fan since '81...didn't believe that the songs he let me hear from 'For You' were from P.
Anyway 2 make a long story short...we got married and we're still fan(and married) and both still fan of P. Every time P is coming 2 Holland we're going 2 c him and remembering the time that we first met... So yeah he(P)is a part of our lives and will b till...

I am not allowed to have sex with my wife anymore! That little bastard has ruined my love life! Damnit! That, of course, was a joke. Prince really hasn't affected my love life. What we like is a little Peabo Bryson and Webster reruns. Whooo-hooo! Talk about gettin' the steam on! Damn! Peace!

I don't know if thsi counts but I blame him for my deviant sexual nature. He and his music are the reason why I'm horny 24/7, or at least, that's what I use as a scapegoat!

When I was 17 I met my very first boyfriend at a Purple Rain concert in Minneapolis. He was sitting behind me and I talked to him very briefly that day, though not even getting his name at that time. Then, by pure chance, I met him again about 6 months later at a dance and remembered him from the PR concert (I am good at remembering faces). The night of that dance I am not sure what my problem was but I rather avoided him, though I did dance with him once or twice. However, after the dance, for some reason I kept thinking about him A LOT so I went through some hoops to obtain his address (he lived in a town 2 hours away from me) from the organization that put on the dance. It took a number of phone calls.
Anyway, we were both huge fans and so Prince was an integral part of our entire relationship. I won't go into the details but that relationship was a substantial, important one - for me, at least - lasting 3 years, ending badly, and leaving me with equal parts fantastic, and painful, memories and affecting me very much. So Prince definitely did affect my love life in a most important and special way. Thanks, Prince.

I guess just listening to his music so much has helped me get a little more in touch with my own sexuality and appreciation for the feminity in women. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Good gettin' down music. I've read some reviews where some of his music has been described as a porno soundtrack.

Me too. Almost every person I've been with has a hard time competing with a legend.

When I was 14 I fell in love with a boy because he could sing along to the whole Purple Rain album with me, in tune too
Things went downhill from there until I met my husband. I met him because his band played 1999. Going to see Prince together last year was my favourite thing in the whole world, it meant so much to me that he was there too and LOVING it.

Prince has hindered my chances of getting some, As soon as I mention Prince, my prospects laugh nervously and start singing "Cream" or "Purrrple Rain" and then write me (and Prince) off as silly and dated.
