Besides, it's sunny and warm out today..lol...and I might drive down thru the lush green hills to the beach and have dinner there while watching the sunset over the ocean, then head into Los Angeles for a few drinks then seeing Prince's performance on the Grammys...all topped off by really seeing him tear shit up live and in person at the HOB...

as for the performance...i'll be generous and give it a 4. there was no chemistry (imo) between the two and it was, without any doubts, the worst television performance i've seen him give.

The performance was okay. I didn't think Beyonce and Prince had the kind of chemistry I was hoping for except for that part in the end...
For some reason I also thought that his purple rain hair style made him look a bit older (beside her).

Having said that. It was great seeing him perform on the grammys once again. I hope he wins it!

I think, for hardcore fans such as us, a lot was invested emotionally in every millisecond.

But, if you back up a bit, you might see two really talented entertainers doing a medley of mostly Prince songs, hammin' it up in a decent awards-show opener.

It was all right, to me. I thought Beyonce exercised a lot of vocal self-control. But, she was probably short of breath -- I'm pretty sure that skirt was givin' her hypothermia... (Didn't Mama Knowles ever tell her about pneumonia weather?)

Prince was goofy. But he and Beyonce came off well. It's hard to shift gears from a rock ballad to a string of dance hits.

I'd like to take this moment to fault the camera crew for not panning to Rhonda (who was holdin' it down wit the FUNKY POUT!!!) enough times. The show's not over -- there's still time to rectify the sidjjeation...)

It was cool. I'm sure my friends tomorrow will be talking about how good it went, how well Prince played, blah blah blah...

And for all those complaining about all the Purple Rain stuff, think about it. Why else would he be performing on the Grammy's at all? He got one nomination for an album hardly anyone heard of or bought. He could have done a blazin' 5 minute instrumental performance of N.E.W.S. and many of you would have been bitchin' about that.
Anyway, an hour and a half to go. As long as he didn't fall off the stage, I'm a happy camper.
