So Blue Vs She's Out Of my Life On the surface no 2 artists or songs could be more contrasting but look deeper.
So Blue is Prince being his most Micheal Jackson, Motown esque with a country beat and crying guitar Smokey Robinson would have been proud to release as an A side. She's Out of my life is MJ being at his most early Prince mode with the rollercoaster falsetto voice and the steady bass giving anchor to a song that could easily drift away in2 pure Chaplin in the Tramp, Violins and lamentations only women are known 2 express... When Jackson goes in2 confronting himself and ultimately accepting that he is 2 blame 4 her leaving U really feel it 4 him "now I've learned that love needs expression but I learned 2 late...". The confusion, chaos in his mind-he doesn't know whether "2 laugh or cry, live or die" thats powerful shit man-I mean that song could of been sung acapella and still blow U away-the slight piano only compliments a voice in genuine pain and regret.. In so Blue Prince is fucked. No other word 4 it. He "had everything he needed but now his life is so blue" U get 2 wondering how long the brother's been like this-a week, a month, 2 years-"every day the feeling gets stronger, and who 2 say just how much longer.." like MJ Prince contemplates suicide 2 end his torment and although the song relies more heavily on instruments than MJ's song but it is altogether more isolated, more lonelely, depressed, scarred by the loss of the love his life-and hell U know he knows he isn't gonna find another so supreme I have 2 go with So Blue on this one. Prince's depression of love hits harder and deeper than Michael's confession of Love...

When MJ sings "shes out of my life" with that little catch in his voice I just know hes really singing about some little boy who grew up & became too old to play treehouse with MJ so on that basis I vote for the Prince song as the better of the two.

Okay I'm suing you & this website - I never said that. You are falsely quoting me. Plus you make it look like I can't spell. I'm calling my lawyer. [This message was edited Tue Jan 27 9:06:37 PST 2004 by thedoorkeeper]

Absolutely. Sorry, but this is one where Prince doesn't cut it in comparison to MJ.
