dude who posted 4 levi mentioned the "sign" show where levi solo'ed on that 1 song. he played with a pick. it's obvious he was a guitarist sub'ing 4 a bass player. Other than that 1 highlight nothing else about his playing stood out.
sonny- got Prince back in touch w/his funk roots. that's why covers of skin tight, maybe your baby, soul sacrifice, the jam, etc were done. Rhonda- it was time 4 Prince 2 get a "jazzy" type bass playa, her fretless work is her strongest assest

1) Levi - Still on of my favorite musician from Prince's
bands. (bass and guitar) 2) Larry - The master. 3) Rhonda - Gotta love Rhonda (esp. on The One). 4) Sonny - I dig the Exodus period. Probably the funkiest time. I'll give Sonny that. (I like when Sonny took vox lead 2) cracknbush

This isn't even funny.
Larry Graham is a master bassist in this idiom, one of the greatest EVER. Thus, he ranks at Number One with a hollow point bullet. Followed by Rhonda and Mark Brown.

That's totally true, in terms of mastership of the instrument, Larry G wins hands down. In terms of personality, heck, even I beat Larry.

For the record, I never think of Larry G. as "Prince's bassist". Yeah, he played for a minute, but Larry is so much more than just a bassist, its an insult. Besides, he preceeded Prince by YEARS. Graham Central Station's work speaks for Larry. Chaka and Patti sang Prince's songs, but its a slap in the face to reduce them to Prince protogees because they are more. Same goes for Larry.
