Is Willing & Able a "coming out" song. Listening to the lyrics, it sure seems like he's saying he likes the hole and the pole.

I'm very aware that I could have been simply projecting my own self into the lyrics (I was newly "out" myself at the time).

If this already has a lengthy thread, give me a link, and I'll leave you all alone.

Coming out is a very empowering feeling.

When I came out it was very invigorating. Having a better understanding of just who you are is a thrilling rush. I felt like telling everyone.

It was my cousin who first thought about this...he mentioned it to me. (He's not gay.) I have to say, I think he's on to something. I'd like to hear some other gay peoples thoughts. Listen to the song, think about your coming out, and tell me I'm completely nuts. I'm not saying I'm right, but it can certainly be interpreted this way.

It can be interpreted that way -- or translated, perhaps is a better word. I think it's adding a lot to what is there. That's not a criticism, I just don't think that's Prince's lyrical intention. If it works for u -- then love it!
