Yeah, u read the thread title correctly...I dont really wanna say who it is, but I have recently (quite by chance) gotten 2 know someone famous who Ive always admired, and has now - strangely enough become a friend.

He likes Prince, and we have discussed his experiences meeting him etc etc - some of u know who Im talking about, but I dont wanna have 2 mention his name in case people think Im name-dropping. So im avoiding that if at all possible (although I would guess that there will still be one or 2 who will post something 2 that effect anyway!)

I told Him I would send him some stuff he had never heard before, and let's face it, there is plenty 2 choose from as we all know.

So far, Ive decided 2 send him:

'HigH'

'Camille'

'Dream Factory'

'One Nite Alone'

and I want 2 put 2gether a compilation 4 him - the one thing I DO know 4 sure is that the following songs DO need 2 be on it:

'Crystal Ball'

*'The Beautiful Ones'
(this being the original, unreleased full version)

So..Im calling on u guys 4 your help - post me a list (a CD's worth) of unreleased stuff YOU think I should include 4 Him.

Well, if you're making this comp for Alec Baldwin, I'd probably steer clear of putting the Scandalous Sex Suite on there. Otherwise, I'd just make a comp like I would for any non-famous schmoe, cuz ya know, our ears don't know from fame...

If you are trying to introduce somone to Prince's music I would think that the last thing you would want to give them is the so-called High album. It's average to below average Prince at best.

is a brilliant track and I have no clue why he's never released it. It should be on there, I think.

I'm the absolute worst at making Prince comps for friends...they never end up listening to them. I never know what they'll like...

I always like to burn the 12" singles for people who are fans but probably don't have and likely haven't HEARD these full-length versions...b-sides, the whole mix. I mean let's face it, Prince music doesn't get better than the extended b-sides from the 80's/early 90's.

Has nobody mentioned "Others Here With Us"? Unless Prince Ch..I mean your new friend is of a nervous disposition, you definitely need to give them that. It gives a whole new angle on Prince.
