First Ave 83 AAAH...I just watched it again after a looong time.
All I gotta say is "DAYUM" If you haven't seen it...GET IT!!! If you got it...WATCH IT AGAIN!!! I'm an old school faN...I know NOTHING of TRC, ONA or N.E.W.S except that they are collecting dust on a shelf...somewhere in the house. FirstAve 83...is nothing short of one of the best live perfomances...IMO here are some screenshots!!

it's an electrifying performance. one of prince's best performance that i've seen. especially 'computer blue' and 'electric intercourse' are supurb. don't need no reefer, don't need cocaine

I only have the audio for this show. I've never seen it but I'm sure its amazing. Electric Intercourse is sooo good. Its the best version I've ever heard. When he sings "baby don't you know your technicolour climax is at my fingertips"...

Probably his best performance on video IMO.My only quibble is Wendy is a little rusty on the guitar(solo on Little Red Corvette). Hopefully a proper release will someday show up on DVD.A prsitine copy exists (check out the BBC documentary for proof). | |

Yeah, I noticed that too...'tis understandable though, considering this was her 1st time playing live with the rest of 'em. ...and it doesn't help much when Princey leaves her playing the opening chords to 'Purple Rain' for almost 5 minutes. love is god, god is love, girls and boys love god above | |
