2nd Demo of "Soft and Wet" I recently got my grubby, little, purple-stained hands on "The Work Volumes 1-5" and I was BLOWN AWAY by the second demo of "Soft and Wet". Awesome little song that was greatly improved over the eventual released version.
Great, ragged but ALIVE production and mix on this song! If only "For You" had this version on the song on it with several other semo versions instead of the final cuts, also including "Make it Through the Storm" and "You" and he would have had a GREAT album!!! Soladeo

you must be joking. then again, in comparison to the 1st version demo...falls over laughing If only "For You" had this version on the song on it with several other semo versions instead of the final cuts, also including "Make it Through the Storm" and "You" and he would have had a GREAT album!!!
"you" was a post-for you track, done way after the album had been released.

"you" was a post-for you track, done way after the album had been released. Yeah, I loved that 1st demo... Made me re-fall in love with the track. I've reversed the polarity of the neutron flow... Now to find a way to exterminate Melody Cool and Rosie Gaines...

Are you guys talking about that 1976 disco-y version of "Soft and Wet" with different lyrics and squelching guitar lick? I love that version too!

The 1976 vrsion stinks with that funny synth program. The second 1977 version is OK with the live drum sound and the percussions. The released one from for you is the best. The singing bass made the song. I also like how he added "Hey lover!" to the lyrics.
