Thanks for so many memories! I've gotta bust out that vinyl collection and revisit some of these old friends...
nod

Mountains 12" -- the two screams right before the big "explosion" when he bridges into the instrumental.
sun

When The Lights Go Down -- the whole intro piano solo, the whole groove/vibe, but especially when he hits the high F (I think -- I don't have perfect pitch!) and it just sparkles! Also love the little bit of growl in his voice in this song.
bow

Question of U -- last track on one of the later Ahdio Shows. He never sings the second verse, just goes off into the guitar solo like he was just overcome and the music took him over. Anyone know when/where that was recorded?

The last few seconds on Had U when he starts playing the guitar I wish this song could have been longer!sad

That song should've been 10 mins long. I've said that for years!!! nod

WOW, I AGREE!!!
I've always wished "Had U" was longer. I guess he'd said everything he had to say.

I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man.

For me the best 10 seconds of Prince that I have heard was the opening to Mutiny on the Parade tour. Funky!

I don't think these have been mentioned yet

Bass Line after "U don't love me...ur a FAKER...u just want me 4 my acres" while chewing cereal...in "Joint 2 Joint"

That raunchy bass line drops like a freakin BOMB !

Also...remember the bass line he's laying down for the 12" Mix of "Partyman" in the BBC documentary ? Oh my GAWD !!!

When the bass line kicks in at the beginning of the 12" of "Erotic City"...if ur hips don't automatically start grinding..their paralyzed.

Can u tell I love the way the man plays bass ??

Also...that cue 4 the splits in "Kiss"..."IIIiii thinkIwannadance"

Gotta agree completely with the opening of "Purple Rain"...gets me misty every time !

Oh...when the guitar solo kicks in on "He Gave Her Angels"...goosebumps 4 WEEKS !!!

Somebody STOP ME !!!

How about the final guitar solo on Computer Blue from 'the Avenue' bootleg - such an intense solo. In fact I think that whole song has never been played better since that first public performance...
