...forcing his fans to listen to that change of belief. By doing that he changes all the perceptions his fans had of this song and makes it clear that the song will never be the same again, leaving the past the past and the fans with a feeling of: "WT... ??". whofarted
So, no the meaning of the song is not the same anymore.

end of rant.

Nobody is forced to listen to anything. You'll always have your recording of "The Cross". If you don't like "The Christ", you don't have to listen to it.

I don't understand the animosity towards this guy.

If you're so pissed off about it, be pissed off at Prince for wanting the guy around, but not at Larry himself.

Prince wants to be a JW, no one forced him. He was shown some scriptures, but he chose to believe them on his own volition.

If you all are so mad at Prince being a JW, be mad at yourself instead for still following him when it clearly just doesn't make you happy anymore.

As for The Cross getting changed, I'd rather Prince be real and do what he feels is true than keep the song the same and sing what he believes is a lie.

If you don't like the change, listen to just the original. It's not like Prince is magically changing the lyrics on all your albums.

This Larry bashing is sooo old...Do we have anything else to talk about?? Does it make you or I look any better for putting him down?? He is a very Positive individual..
With all the Negativity that surrounds us, what makes people just want to talk about this man over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again? Why put Prince or Larry
down over their Spirituality? What the Important question
WE should all ask is--- What Does God Think about US?
Are we doing what we should be doing to please Him?
What does God Really require from us? So while every other week there is a new topic about Larry this and that and why is Prince not doing this, just remember to look in the mirror ..because who are we to judge? You never know they may be on the right road after all..they may have the last laugh.

I~agree, admittelty Larry graham is a great musician, but I can not understand why Larry and other musician are heavily envolved with Prince, I don't think they are required as much as they are.

To prove my point, Prince's finale at Sydney second concert was a huge disappointment why finsh with LArry grahem. I could of thought of other tracks, such as Purple rain etc.

Well, he played it like that in concert. I could of course walk out and return untill the song was done, but you know... that's pretty much forcing it in my book.

erm.. I don't know about you folks, but Prince never re-recorded the Cross. He played it live in 1998 with a long ass rant on why "they" changed the title into the Christ. There was no way to listen to it other than to walk out of the concert.

And yes he said: "we changed it". suffice it to say, he and larry did.
