I agree. The quality should've been much better, but you can't deny the music. Each song is great and his guitar work is awesome.

Yeah, the quality is really amateur looking, but his performance is awesome.

And how can you turn down the chance to see more Sheila E.?

Quality is poor, show is cut short. Still, it's worth the money. If you haven't seen the show, you won't be as annoyed by the cutting short of it as someone who has seen the show.

Quality is crap, the way it's shot is crap, the sound is,
well ehm...crap. The menu is crap, the song selection is
crap.

It is slightly redeemed by the fact that it contains 3 or
4 excellent performances and becuz it's simply fun to see
Prince do his thing.

If this were, say, a Nick Cave release I bought, I would
not be so forgiving and be outright in calling it shite.

NO NO NO !!! Do not listen 2 these ppl! Yes, well worth the purchase. I can c where everybody is coming from when they mention the quality. But in my little o' humble opinion, It's hot!
I also think that the quality of the picture was made that way 2 give the DVD a different look. I didn't mind it. But don't Prince have the most tripped out facial expressions? Not 2 mention his cool dance moves. Where does he get all this talent? Then there's the music! Now, go and get it!

It's worth it for those of us who were there! (front row) But the big let down was to see how much Prince chopped the hell out of it. If he would have released the whole show it would have sold a lot more. It was the best Prince show I've been to in 25 years...

You're right. I just really, really, really don't understand why it was released this way. I can exist with the lenght, I can live with the picture, but what about the sound? It just has no power, damnit.

Seems like Prince made the same mistake as he did with the Sign "O" the Times movie

Buy it as cheap as you can get it. It's horrible by all DVD standards, but it's still a Prince show. You might even be able to rent it.

It is simply amazing how an artist of Prince's reputation
for perfection can release such an utter piece of dung as
an excuse for a Live DVD.

As if Rave wasn't already crap enough, this further puts
him to shame.

Meanwhile, great shows like Sign or Livesexy remain on a
shelve somewhere, collecting dust when they should be on
the mixingboards being remastered and re-released.

i got it today and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed (though I haven't seen the last two songs yet.) The audience is really quiet and the instruments haven't been mixed very well. The setlist is a bit strange and the structure of the songs are a bit too loose IMHO, with too many medleys and jams. I think medleys, jams and improvised parts are what makes live music good but they should only come between solid, relatively standard performances of songs (for the most part anyway.) Its also a bit too jazzy. Having said that some of the guitar work is awesome and a lot of the music is very funky. I'm hoping for a longer DVD full of hits, personally, but this is OK.
