Did any .Orgers see the acoustic set @ the celebration last year? I bet that was magical! the bootleg probably doesn't do it justice, but if you were lucky enough to be there, i need details (doesn't matter how small, what was Prince wearing?, was he in a single spotlight? was he sat down? stood up? etc.)
I wish this was soundboard!

Saw it,experienced it,loved it.The bootleg is ok but there is nothing like a LIVE Prince jam...not my first acoustic jam experience either...Funky

Don't remember the outfit, but he was sitting on a stool, alone on stage, in the spotlight. Fantastic.

Cool. i'm just trying to picture it that's all. It'd be so cool if he did a TV appearance like that.

Wasn't at the Celebration, but i did attend ONA at The Apollo on 05/10/02. During the second half of the show he came out and sat on a stool. A single spotlight illuminating just him and the guitar. He went through many of the songs that he did during the celebation acoustic set. A truly magical experience.
I was alittle disappointed for my friend who had come with me hoping that he'd be on the piano like he had been the day before. She was hoping to hear tunes like 'the beautiful ones' and 'nothing compares 2u'. I bet there were many who felt like her. For a true fan though, this was really something to behold. He was wearing a suit, not the "X" type, but a regular suit, with an open collared shirt (white?). I think the suit was grey. He sat on a stool, accompanied only by bongos.
The "opening act" was perfect, setting the mood for this special performance. Norah Jones, with her jazzy piano and bluesy songs was a perfect choice. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

He was accompanied by Kirk on the bongos...OK, Kirk wasn´t really the gratest drummer Prince ever had but he did a nice job with the bongos...before they started Prince asked " Kirk, is the water warm enough ??"
This set and the night he played Something In The Water were probably the most magical Prince moments I´ve ever witnessed.Don´t know how others feel about it but the more I think about it the more I understand just how special that week and those performances were...except for those irritating versions of God and Condition Of A Heart...don´t know what it is but they are among my favorite songs and just didn´t sound right on the last night...but the acoustic set was unreal. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

As far as I recall, his shirt was black and his suit sort of lavender or light purple. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Damn, i've got the celebration bootleg and think 'God' sounds electric. Maybe it's one of those things that is better on record. "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
