Listening to NEWS on headphones is a whole different experience... I'm hearing nuances I haven't heard before. This is a great album - a little esoteric for me at first, but I knew it would grow on me and it has. I've been listening to it a lot over the last few months, and I think it's a great choice for the Grammies. Of course, I think TRC would have been too.

This goes without saying. Everything sounds better in headphones!! Ever notice what happens when you yawn while listening to headphones?? All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone. | |

I agree. Albums like this take awhile to grow on me. But they always sound better without any other nois or distraction. "

'NEWS' is very good on headphones. 
In fact alot of Prince's albums sound better like this. Come, The Rainbow Children, Parade...all of 'em I enjoy listening to more on headphones.  love is god, god is love, girls and boys love god above | |

If you haven't heard it on headphones yet, do it! Exactly, if any single one, The Rainbow Children would have been a perfect contender for any award out there in any of the categories 
Anywho, I think it's great that NEWS got a nomination, it shows that he isn't completely forgotten yet. This might, in a way even be the first slight appearance of the large radarworks of the machinery accepting to give P another crack in due time instead of completely ignoring him as if he does not and did not exist at all. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Indeed, "Pheromone" on headphones is quite a trip. you can hear a dozen electronical flowers opening up deep in the mix on the chorus. They burst open like waves of sound. Incredible. Must be some kind of synth or something. I just love that, it sounds magical. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Funny but not accurate. I've listened to many good speakers. I own a pair of Angstrom Radix 500s. Speakers are like shoes, each set have their own charactaristics. There are just some little things that you can only hear with headphones. The electronic flower thing is uinteresting for PHEREMONE... I can't wait to buy a set of headphones for Xmas. | |
