WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PRINCE TV APPEARANCE?

This is my first post, and I'm sure that this has been asked before, but here goes -
I was going thru my video collection of various Prince stuff (burning them on DVD, so I don't give the tapes any more wear on them) and I came across various TV performances that I hadn't watched in a while. Some of my faves were the Soul Train episode, the 'Electric Chair' performance from Saturday Night Live and the Rosie O'Donnell fiasco. Just wondering what were some of the faves of the org-ers?
If I want your opinion, I'll beat it outta ya!

prince doing "sign o the times and "play in the sunshine" and knocking out everyone including overshadowing Bowie's performance from his Glass Spider Tour at the '87 mtv music awards... you had to see the whole show in context...

love that american bandstand interview. i know shy but damn.. it's almost as if he was angry at the fact that it had taken x years to get a record deal.

I also like Dinner With Dolores on Letterman when he ends saying "free TLC" and exits before Letterman makes his way to him. Dave is then standing on stage holding the bag.. classic. DL is a truly gifted man.

Oprah. Emancipation is my absolute fave. She interviews him at Paisley Park and discusses everything from his wardrobe, to his marriage to Mayte.

That was so true, because the Glass Spider Tour was the suckiest suckhole of suck of Bowie's entire career, and SOTT was Prince at such a high point...that performance was just beyond amazing.

I love the SNL "Electric Chair" performance too, and the AMAs/Grammys performances from 1985 were pretty memorable to me as well.

That's too funny.

Everyone is going on about that Arsenio performance. I watched it the night it aired but I can't remember very much of it. Wish I could.

My favorite is probably the Sept 1991 Aresnio appearance for the high-energy choreography and great song arrangements, including the best version of "Cream" ever!

Then in no particular order:

Opening with "Let's Work" on Sinbad back in 98? -- funky
1987 MTV Awards "Sign O The Times" -- drums and guitar
1991 MTV Awards "Gett Off" -- what a trip!
1085 Grammy's and AMAs -- I was SO excited back then!
.
edit: hmmm

Dolphin from David Letterman was quite good, too. Dave & Paul were rippin' on the symbol hard that nite. Arsenio '91 was very good, but I kinda liked the '92 Arsenio a little better. Morning Papers & Blue Light were awesome!

Does anyone remember a televised interview he did in Paris YEARS ago? It's a vague memory. I'm sure I taped it--with my luck it was on Beta.

Everlasting Now-The Tonight Show

And the VMA's in 87 were AWESOME I was just a little bummed when I found out that the only thing that was live was his voice and guitar, the rest was tape.

I have to agree with the 1985 AMAs. The performance of "Purple Rain" kicked ass! I loved the part where he knocked over the microphone stand and played his heart out.
