Crystal Ball (Alternate Version) I just love the original version of Crystal Ball. Ya Know the original one, from the Crystal Ball sessions. It's a little more faster and alot more funkier. I just can't help 2 wonder, why in the hell did Prince change it ? The first one was perfect and it wasn't as long as the one that rereleased on the Crystal Ball 3 disc CD. Anyways, this is the track I'm feeling right now , that along with the orginal Dream Factory. I love the beginning when Wendy's trying 2 get into the club with a fake ID, the lady says, "You're to young to be in here" and Wendy says "Maybe you're just 2 old 2 care"

crystal ball is easily my fave prince track.i was listening to all the various versions of crystall ball last night and to be honest i cant decide which one i prefer. i do wonder if it was originally intended to have those amazing strings in it, or if that was just an excellent after thought. | |

theres a few versions of it. with/without strings. diff intro/ outro. crazy jazzy bit near end. wendy/lisa(presumably) speech. they're all good | |

Prince didn't change the speed of the song, bootleggers did (as a way of tagging)... The song always had the same speed as the released version... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

A boot named "Crystal Ball" was my first bootleg as well...had a pic of Prince from the Lovesexy tour on the front and a promo pic from Graffiti Bridge era in the back...packaging has definitely come a long way!!!

Hmmm, that intro sounds familiar, but I think I heard it as an intro to "Dream Factory" on that extra snazzy bootleg release of the "Dream Factory" album and demos that came out a coupla years back... | |

The first copy I had of The Black Album ran fast & it took me awhile to get used to the right speed. It sounded slow for about a year & then I forgot the bootleg version. | |
