A "Prince" of A Patient A doctor friend of mine provided me with an article from the Canadian Journal of Diagnosis from 1998. It's a cute story of a Dr. Dan Ezekiel being called to supply Prince with a vitamin-B12 injection. A fan of Prince alone in the same room with him wanting to maintain proper protocol, he made idle chatter with Prince, asking him how he liked Vancouver. "Fine", was Prince's curt response. "I enjoy your music very much" the Dr. tried. Thank you was the response. The doctor was not feeling the banter was going too well, but after injecting the needle, a drop of blood appeared at the puncture site.
The doctor said with a smile "Hey!, you don't have purple blood!" Prince looked up at him and chuckled, reached into a drawer and gave the doctor 8 front row tickets to the show, wishing him a good time at the show.

I have heard many stories of his generosity but the only one I can say is true is as follows.
A friend of mine played in a band in Minneapolis and was also a driver for a courier company. One day he was driving along and stopped at a bakery and picked up some cakes or donuts or something and as he was driving out of the car park saw what he thought was a bum sitting on the side of the road, he pulled over and offered him a donut. The bum said thanks and my friend drove off. A couple of weeks later his manager got a call offering them a gig at Glam Slam and some free studio time at Paisley. The bum was no other than the man himself and recognised my friend. They knew he had turned up at some of their gigs so were blown away when all this happened when they finally figured out it all stemmed back to the donut! In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream
