I'm sitting here reading Dez Dickerson's book "My Time with Prince" and there is a great story about the time Prince was ARRESTED! They were on a plane (Gayle was still in the band so it must be like 1979 or so) in Mississippi going to a show, and for some reason Prince and Matt Fink's seats were in the front of the plane away from the rest of the band. Prince thought it would be funny to steal the megaphone they use incase of emergencies so he took it and had Matt put it in his bag. The lady behind them didn't think it was funny so she called the flight attendent over (Dez is watching this unfold) and the flight attendent went and got the Sky Marshall's. They made an announcement that not to panick but something had been stolen from the airplane and they were going to search the plane. Well, before the Sky Marshall's got on the plane, Matt and Prince went and gave the bag to hold on to, so Dez was like "oh great plant the evidence on me." So they started searching row by row and when they got to Dez he told them he had it but it wasn't his bag. They asked who's bag was it and he pointed to Matt. So they escourted Matt off the plane and Prince went with him since it was his idea. The band was freaking because they had a show that night. They heard later that Matt and Prince were on their way to the show via private jet and that they had both been arrested and put in the local joint. He said that the jail had turned into a big meet and greet because Prince was signing autographs and posing for pictures. I want to see those pictures Some toothless thug and Prince posing in jail for a picture??? GET THIS BOOK!!! This is just one of MANY stories that have to be read to be believed!!!
