i almost want to cry I am watching CNN and they just announced that Prince will be inducted in the Hall of Fame.It's official!!!My life flashed before me and I sorta' lost my breath!I have been there through every note since day 1 when I heard my sister's friends playing his first album.I was much younger ,but I was taken with the sound.Everything kept building from there.I would play air guitar and pretend I was Prince and Michael.
Then,one day,my sister brought home a record called Dirty Mind.The world stopped.This was something so strange and magical.This experience blew my mind.It was the excitement of his voice,his guitar,the funky bass snaps,the drum sounds,the dirty lyrics( I didn't even know what most of it meant)that excited me like I can't even articulate!!!I was fascinated with the dirty rock sound and the dirty funk and I must've listened to this a million times!! Prince's look fascinated me.His sound blew my mind.Most of my friends were very light and looked all mixed up...i fit that mode,as well.So,here was a man that sorta' looked like us and then took it a few million steps farther.This was a trip to me.And girls loved him and I respected that. I could go on and on,but I am soo touched by this that it is even surprising me!!Music is my life blood.I have almost never heard a sound I couldn't ,at least,sit and have a beer with.Prince's sounds have been the oxygen in my blood.And as many artists as I listen to and admire,Prince is music to me!!Long live the REAL KING!!! It's really great isn't it?! I'm so very proud of Prince. He is the most amazing man. My heart feels alive and happy, and my spirit soars! :wOOt: Prince has brought so much happiness and emotion into my life through his music and words, I'm grateful...

And watching some of the MJ coverage today, I appreciate Prince and his talent and his style and his class even more than ever before. | |
