I used to love Kate Bush more than Prince. I've been through various phases of: Alan Parsons Project Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Tricky, Moloko, Radiohead, ABBA, the Golden Palominos, Angelo Badalamenti, Bernie Worrell/Bootsy Collins etc.
Right now I don't really have a second favourite. Everyone in my household can agree on Prince, so that's what's always playing.

After Prince, and a HUGE dropoff, aren't they
all the same? Elvis is the only one who came close to having Prince's charisma. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

OK, so I've mentioned The Clash and Talking Heads already, right? So who says I shouldn't name my other favorite artists? Here's 3 more:

Prince really has become my second favorite artist since probably the last 6 or 7 years or so. MeShell now holds court in my heart and head as the current favorite.
But I will say this: At his best, no one's music has moved me or meant more to me than Prince's.

James Brown / Sly Stone / The Parliafunkadelicment Thang / RHCP / Led Zeppelin / Nirvana / Alice In Chains / The Beatles / Oasis / Jimi Hendrix / ... and many more
Prince is no better / no worse than the ones mentioned above. He ain't as funky as James Brown / Sly / George Clinton He can't rock like Led / Nirvana / A.I.C. He hasn't strong songs like the Beatles / Oasis He can't play guitar like Jimi ... But he can do it all

The debate stands with me of who is my first favorite artist? I really think prince would be, because he was my first true love for music.. but he isnt the only one.
The Beatles are somewhere before, between, or after Prince. as well as others..
