I Just noticed you can sing 'When U were mine' to Andre's 'Hey Ya'

Thought i'd let you know wink

He mentions Polaroids too in a Morris Day kind of way.The Love Below album reeks of Prince. This is a good thing, the torch has been passed*

His album is astounding and groundbreaking in Hip-Hop!

It makes you laugh, it makes you think, it'll even make you cry.

cry Seriously. I was raised in a single-parent home (My strong Mother and I)

When I listened to "She's Alive..." #15 I believe, I broke down. Beautiful song.

I definitely recommend it.

Andre 3K isn't groundbreaking at all. Da shit was first done in the 60s by the godfather o soul

How can it be groundbreaking if one cd copies George Clinton and the other copies Prince??? It is a great album indeed but far from groundbreaking.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

Whose 'These people'? That doesn't include me, i hope.I KNOW what has gone before.I'm merely pointing out what a great album it is.

I think this sniping stems from the fact Prince can no longer string two good songs together, let alone an entire album!

ur wrong. MJ sells more but prince is the one that gets more props from real musicians.

MJ gets props from kids and freaky fans, and prince gets the best props from ...lets say...hhmm...miles davis? john lee hooker? santana, eric clapton...the list is so long

Well i was giving Andre props on this occasion, not MJ.

Having said that, MJ will have no trouble getting a deal when his Sony contract is up.

Oh! I'm sorry...Shame on me, for not acknowledging, that he gets his style from J. Brown, Prince and otherz...

rolleyes Please! I'm not an idiot. Maybe you need to wake up, in 2003 everybody sounds like somebody from the past. Yet amongst all the bullshit rap artist we have sampling their asses off, and not giving credit.

Dre 3000 willingly acknowledges that the album resembles Prince and others. He mentions that he's influenced by them, so that's not the issue.

As I said, "groundbreaking in Hip-Hop...

because amongst everything else claiming to be Hip Hop, flooding the airwaves, that's exactly what an album like Outkast's is: Groundbreaking.

Okay, these points are just ludicrous. Whenever Prince puts out something derivative like N.E.W.S., we critics get ripped because Prince isn't living back in the 80s, and is trying to find new means of musical expression. Sure, he's entitled to that, but likewise, isn't Andre entitled to the same? He didn't want to do straight hip-hop this time, and is trying to find a new musical voice, and broadening his horizons a great deal in his attempt. As a result, to the mystifying dismay to some, Andre succeeded (is it just sour grapes, because Prince's similar attempt at growth, N.E.W.S., sucked?).

Maybe The Love Below sounds like some of those that came before, including Prince. But Prince has never shied away from sounding like his musical idols either. Outkast has made a fantastic album, and that accomplishment should be celebrated in the same fashion we celebrated the Rainbow Children.

This is a great dbl disc... Andre also hints of EWF and Ohio Players... it's great to hear that somebody appreciates the old sound and has made an album honoring that sound.

No, it's not brand spankin' new... but to those born after good music was originally made, I can see why they would think so.

I also wouldn't classify this as Hip-Hop (which is where I found it in the wrecka stowe)... it's too funky and soulful for that. This is R&B/Funk in it's newest and latest greatest repackaged form. nod

I'm lovin' it. music
