Don't like it, listened to it once(which is more than some of his cds i have). His voice is irritating on it.. the message is cool though. Would prefer to jam to Musicology.

lol, "listened to it once" - its not exactly something you would make a judgement on. fair enough you have your opinion, but at least listen to it a few times. if you judge something on one listen you wont like much stuff that is actually great! plus, more than soem cds?!? so how do you know if its any good or not?!

Its simply dull.

Its not terrible, but its average b-side material at best. If Reflection and What Do U Want Me 2 Do are all Prince has too offer, then he really has dried up.

He seems to be going through the motions, chucking out light weight lounge music. The is no edge to it whatsoever.

I would love to love it, but sadly I do not. Its yet another throwaway track, that will end up in the file along with most of the tracks from NPGMC year one and two. Weak uninspired funk at best.

I don't think it's a classic, it does sound a bit like Dorothy Parker with a bit of Emancipation style production, but it's good. Better than a lot of his 90's output anyway.

He's definately getting back on track IMO.

Also, it's a free track, it might not be the new single, it might be the B-side !!

A lot of long time fans expect something that's just going to blow them out the water like a Crystal Ball or Love 2 the 9s. So, they just get disappointed when Prince gives us a somewhat more ordinary song (though it is a rather nice tune). However, I think the music he makes is reflective of where he is now. The man is 45 years old now, and he's making music that shows his maturity and wisdom that comes with his time spent on Earth. Sounds a little cheesy, but it's true.

Prince already gave us the world when it comes to music. The way I see it, I'll be happy if he keeps churning out listenable dittys with a nice melody. What can you do after you've pretty much done everything for over 20 years, you know?

Also, you have to keep in mind, that a lot of songs that Prince puts on his website are probably nice little songs that he either didn't find worthy of a place on one of his albums, or simply didn't fit in with his other music at the time.

I like it. As with almost all Prince music, if I'm going to love it and fuck it and marry it I won't know until after many listens.

I'll get back to you.

I like it. Very groovy tune. Someone said it reminded them of Dorothy Parker...I totally agree. Very 80s sounding (in a good way).

I WAS BEING HONEST, thank u for respecting that, please note I did give props to "his message". I could force my self to like the song (as i have done with sooo much of his music). Some songs I love instantly from the first note e.g. Kiss, Peach, Empty Room, There is Lonely, Extralovable, Witness, 10, etc. I have only heard Musicology 2 times but I really enjoyed the beat fromt he moment I heard it(the sound system had alot to do with that)... so i am still waiting for that release.

Thought I'd get this thread started nice and early.

I like it but I've read some comments that are disparaging about it.

It's nice.

I agree. It's a nice enough little ditty.
