I don't believe it myself, but.....

I think I decided tonight...

...that the Family album is my favorite Prince album of all...

You disgust me.

NO..this makes sense..in some purple strang way it does..the album is dripping with Prince more than some others..it has his funly vibe, humor, sdtrings, backbeat etc...the actors sing over him but his resence is felt even more...

btw isnt The Family album sort of timeless..unclassifiable music..it doesn't really seem dated becaue the music is basic with lish orchestration that it could have been recorded back then-today-or tommorow it seems.

It's one of Prince's best records for sure. My favorite side project. Who else but Prince would put two instrumental tracks on an album supposedly spotlighting a protege act, when he plays all of the instruments?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

this used to be my all time favourite song. I loved River Run Dry SO much that when I was at art school, I did an album cover assignment using these very lyrics incorporated into the design. I got a D. No-one had heard of it. sad

And I'm sorry but St. Pauls voice on Nothing Compares To You fits the song perfectly.

Prince's demos of High Fashion and Mutiny are much better...I bet Mutiny is one of the songs that he wished he kept for himself. It's a nice album though, I'll agree.
