Do U buy the black album every time U see it?

I now have 2 1994 CDs, 1 1994 cassette and a bootleg CD back from 87-88.

I'm asking because I found the 2nd CD for £9 today, and I bought it regardless of the fact that I'm short of cash and that I already have it. I guess because it's rare I want to know I have a back up incase one breaks... but I can't promise that I won't buy the next one I find.

U? Do U have more than 1 copy of a Prince album.

(I also have a D+P hologram CD and a second copy of NEWS, both sealed. God knows what I'm going to do with them. I don't want to sell them or open them!)

Before it was officially released I bought it about 5 times, the reason being because the sound quality was better than the previous ones I owned. I think in total I've spent $150 only the Black album alone and that doesn't include the offical release.

In 1988,I bought a bootleg cassette copy of 'The Black Album'.In 1989,I bought an expensive vinyl copy from someone.A year later,I bought several vinyl copies that I saw at a small record store (these were on a label called 'Erotic City Records').And of course,in 1994,I bought the "official" copy released by Warners.

So yeah,I have bought several copies of this Black Album smile

Great. Got it on CD when it was released... way back when I wasn't able to tell if this is Prince himself or not. Which means it's really a looong time ago. rolleyes

I just have the 1994 CD release and a bootleg from earlier on.

I have all my Prince music mp3'd since I listen to music in the office most of the day, t'is easier than swapping CDs around.

So I don't even touch the CDs other than for mp3-ing new releases.

I know what you mean. I found it on CD in a second hand shop the other day for £2. So, of course, I bought it. Now I have about 10 copies of the damn thing in one format or the other!

I have three copies. The first was on vinyl in some second hand shop in Georgetown while visiting D.C., then I went and taped it so it could go in the car with me, then I bought it when it finally came out in CD. That's it for me.

I have 2. A CD boot I bought in Switzerland under the counter in 92 for normal CD price, it was excellent quality - straight from the vinyl, presentation overall was brilliant except "Rockard in a FUNNY place" typo on inside cover.
Then bought official one 2 years later, thinking it would be better quality, but it wasn't really.

It's amazing how much tape-hiss is on the legitimate '94 release. Some boots have the same quality as the WB version.

I have the original vinyl LP, which I got from the Warner Bros rep. When he came back to get it I hid it.

It is now framed and on the wall in my house.

Makes a great conversation piece, you see the vinyl is all smashed to bits and scattered throughout the frame in the shape of a heart.
In the distance a light shines and I know it is mine. Someday I will touch it because it calls me. It says cross the line, cross the line. I know everything is not always what it seems, so I pinch myself daily just in case it's a dream

Deliberately smashed and deliberatley placed in the heart shape, done about August '88 when Lovesexy finally became clear for me.

If you need to ask why then there is no point my explaining.

I guess if the artist 'tells' you to, you just gotta.

(Though mind, he did say "don't BUY the black album" not "smash the black album into little pieces and arrange them into a heart shape.")
