tarantino I'ma little disappointed that Tarantino hasn't had Prince do any music on his films.I think it would be perfect.I don't even mean like a pop song or anything, but something weird and instrumental or even some incidental music.
I really think Prince could find even more legs if he immersed himself in film work a la Danny Elfman.I think it could be a grand challenge and really stretch him.Maybe even do it as NPG or something so people wouldbn't have preconceived notions of how the sound would be.He could make some really cool freaky sounds.I see The RZA and Dan teh Automator doing stuff and they owe a lot of their sound experiments to Prince.(not that they outwardly sound like him ,but the spirit of experimentationa dn the use of drummmachines and creepy keyboard tinkles are all inspired by prince .they way thses sounds are used is what i'm talking about.) Tarantino is like a filmmaker version of a young Prince to me.I know that match would work.If their ego freed them it could be absolutely breathtaking. "I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"

I see where you're coming from, but the content of Tarantino films and Prince's higgle-de-piggle-dee religious rules - would they mix. As a side note, was there ever any confirmation on the supposed tracks he did with Madonna in 1995 for Dusk Til Dawn - I think it was "The Funk Of A 1000 Years" and "Mad" (as in the Exodus-era out-take, released through NPGMC Year One). I heard about them at the time, but I've never heard anything more other than verbatim what was rumoured then. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love Tarantino's soundtracks. They always have a certain flavour to them. Certainly many of Prince's songs are a little bit out there, though still down to earth, so it could work out.
But, it would have to be his older, pre-religious stuff. I think Tarantino has always picked the exact right song for every moment of every one of his movies, so I would be against him picking a Prince song for the sake of it being Prince. Actually, I think Prince would be a great fit in a Tarantino flick. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Namepeace, I don't know who you are, or where you came from, but in what seems like a short time since I started reading your posts, I have never been disappointed. I mean, granted, this post is not the best time to bring it up, but you always state your points in a very calm, logical, straight-forward manner, and I respect that. I'd just like to say it's a pleasure for me, having you as a contributor on the prince.org community. But seriously, narrow down your "favorites" list. I'm not reading all that! I love Tarantino's movies ...
But a Prince-song wouldn't have a great impact: think about Spike Lee's "Girl 6" ... The music-scores of Guy Richie's movies are even better: "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels" and "Snatch" are brilliant movies, with brilliant music. Too bad the americans can't follow the "english" ... I'm glad we have subtitles!

Thanks for the kind words and constructive criticism. The feeling is definitely mutual, as at a minimum, we both love Family Guy. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I've seen numerous Tarantino interviews where he's said that he knows the music he's gonna use in his movies before he even writes the script.
