one question: in the movie shortly before the perfomance of purple rain morris seems kind of depressed or so...
you have an idea why??

maybe it´s because he foresees that kid will become a big star??

I have always thought it was because Morris knew about what happened to Prince's dad in the movie, that the father tried to commit suicide and was in the hospital. That was my take on it, anyway.

yeah, i always thought it was showing how morris was sensitive underneath, and felt obliged by the group to act a certain way even though he didnt want to, you see him walk down the corridor after his performance looking glum dont you? then his band catch up and he says that comment. it kinda sets up him dancing to prince during i would die 4 u! so at the end of the movie you feel everyone is happy and good.
