Prince's best instrument Which instrument do you think Prince plays best. My opinion is that he is at his best when behind the keys. Followed closely by bass. Guitar would be third. All the gals say hoe if your man's giving up the gold. All the fellas say ruff if you're only giving up the bone. | |

It's kinda difficult to compare keys and guitar because he's so great at both.In my opinion, Prince sounds a lot more comfortable on the guitar. He plays with a lot of passion and energy. For this reason, he's my favorite guitarist. For more reasons, check the guitar solos:

not his best on keys. that's for sure. best on guitar, then keys/bass/drums. it's difficult to tell beyond guitar. | |

I remember hearing him say taht he started out on piano but I definitely think he's best on the guitar. If I had to say which instrument I thought was his main axe, I'd definitely go with guitar. He's definitely no slouch on the others though! | |

I'm no musical expert at all.
But I think I enjoy his piano/keyboard work the most. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yeah, it's very difficult to solve that. It's clear that bass is 3rd, and drums 4th. Guitar & keys. I think that in general Prince is a better guitarist, because if we look for good solos, we can find a lot of incredible guitar solos and not as much keys solos. But then, Prince records for example "One nite alone" (piano & voice) and you think: "oh fuck, how good is he on piano!!!" You can compare for example the Fhender Rhodes and guitar on the song Xogenous: I can' decide.
But, to sum up, I think Prince is more powerful and personal on guitar (I talk about electric guitar, he's not as good on acoustic guitar), but he plays keys very very well. Guitar: 10 Keys: 9,5 Bass: 8 Acoustic guitar: 8 Drums: 6,5 | |
