What a powerful line. Twice now, after break-ups (or something like it) this line comes to mind. Imagine you are best friends with your lover, so when you break up with your lover, who do you want to cry to? Your best friend. But what happens when your best friend IS your lover. That's the feeling. Prince wants her to feel as close to him as she does her girlfriend.. tell him all the things she tells her girlfriend, etc.

I always thought the very first line of "If I was your girlfriend would you remember to tell me all of things u forgot when I was your MAN" kind of explained it well. How can you be jealous of the relationship between twin sisters??

The song is meaning bascially us females do things with each other that we don't see ourselves not doin with our boyfriends at times... such has that part where he said can i see you undress. Get it?

I've always felt that this was a very moving song. It is complex and just a little bit needy. Not something you hear everyday eventhough most folks have moments like that.
