why does prince need 3 keyboard players?

a hong kong girl confirmed that prince have 3 keyboard players on this tour.
why?
renato is great on his own.
2 keys are enogh for prince keyboard lines.
3 keys are way too much,he have horns also.
im affraid that prince's sound will get way too overproduced.

well he had two for years with lida and dr fink. then he had two with toomy and mr hayes. maybe since he doesn't have a second guitarist three keys cover the void.

...His sound has been too overproduced ever since 1995...
He should lose his horn section save for Leeds and some skilled trumpet player...

The question of why 3 keyboard players is a good one, even if it does mean more guitar from Prince and less of him playing keys...
but "horn section" come on: firstly to have Maceo in the band is more than a horn section, that's like setting a high carat diamond in the heart of a beautiful piece of jewelry... I mean I love Eric, but more because he was there from early days and is for a lot of people a nostalgia thing... the band last year in Europe was superb with Renato, Rhonda, John, Maceo Candy and Greg... I loved the way Prince used the horns to accentuate rythmns and lines, much as JB did as a founding (god)father way back when...

I don't see where 3 keys can go... without as someone said sounding "overproduced" the best Prince has always been a pared down sound..and not too musch looping and scooping!

Maceo's obviously a legend, but c'mon!!! Eric's horn is a better fit for Prince's music than Maceo's. Plain and simple. It may be a thing of Maceo playing an alto while Eric usually does a tenor, but Eric's playing style is just such a perfect fit for many of his tunes that you can't deny it just sounds better with Prince than Maceo's!! Nostalgia or not!
