The first time I heard "eye hate u" was at lunch and the radio dj said it was a sneak preview.I had been reading all this stuff about how prince had lost it and that he needed a hit bad.I had read the stuff in Vibe magazine and the like about unreleased works.

I was like,"yeah".It was a ballad,but not sappy.It was stuff the ladies would want and the fellas could get with.Then ,at the end,the angry guitar.Cool!I knew this would do his rep some good.

I was right because the dj said the phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to hear it again and wanting to know what album it was on.There were lots of flattering comments.Cool.

A friend of mine,who has always been impressed with Prince,but always counted on his downfall because he said he churned out too many jams and was too good-looking for it all to last..(whew!)said that h ehated the song because it played on the current female menatality prevalent in society wher crazy is cool.He had no understanding of such strong feelings athat you ahet someone for the pain and wanting to kiss them at the same time.

We argued and argued.basically,he had never allowed himself to fall in love with a woman.Always,he had to end the relationship and be "in charge".So,he couldn't fathom this.It was weak to him.He prefeered the begging-for-sparte-change stylings of R Kelly and Keith Sweat ballads to this because "at least,they're honest;they want to get laid".

There is no point to this .I was just listening to "eye hate u" at lunch and I remembered that.

great jam. poetry is beautiful. i have no problem listening to this over and over again. extended remix is even better.
