Prince And The Revolution... were the best band ever!

And so begins another band vs band thread.
I can only imagine that people who say the Revolution weren't his best band are qualifying their opinion on playing ability alone. The Revolution members influence on Prince cannot be understated (I've said time and time again that Prince is an artist who is *very* influenced by those around him). So what if Michael B, John Blackwell or Sonny T are better players than their Revolution counter-parts. The Revolution was part of the whole package of Prince's creative peak - They also had a personality as a whole - not just Prince's band, or his lackies - but a group of individual personalities. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The closest band you could compare the Revolution to, is the current incarnation of the NPG. I think the people in Prince's current band also influence Prince greatly. They may not have as much "personality" per se as the Revolution, but they are equally as influential, plus they are, as you stated, better players.
I'm not going to argue, but I'm also not going to agree. The Revolution is not the best of Prince's bands. | |

I don't know who The Ramones is, and I don't care much for the expanded Revolution. The Revolution with just Lisa, Wendy, Brownmark, Dr. Fink and Bobby Z. were The Revolution to me - the others were just live players for the Parade tour as there were no album with the expanded Revolution. 
 The Revolution will be heard!
But in all honesty - I liked the Lovesexy band as much as The Revolution.  FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
