He sounds like he's been crying (either that or he had some kind of cold but I might put my money on the former) and it kinda feeels like the things he's singing about have really happened. Most artists don't write lyrics that good about things that haven't actually happened to them.

I'd say "If I was U're Girlfriend". I'm suprised no-one's mentioned it.

I think that's his most naked, most emotionally vulnerable song. It's about trying to connect with someone you love and not knowing HOW.

Musically you've got this steady, slow, solitary funk groove going on, but the kicker is the sad minor-chord synth-string parts way down in the mix. And then when he goes Pleee-ee-eeeh-eeese!, I just feel it all over. Been there...
