It is late here in Australia, and i dont have much to do. I have done this a couple of times in the chat room, and to great responce, So i thought i would make a topic about it and see what happened. i know the title says write your own Prince song, but what i mean is write a story about a song. What u do is take a song, and write a story about it. Weather it be a live song and u describe what happens (like i have) or u write a clip to your fav song, it dosnt matter, just no describing an already released video clip. just a lil writing experience. here we go, ill start

If I Was Your Girlfriend (Live)

The stage is dark, 2 lone spotlights shin out over a crowd of thousands. Ppl waving their hands in there air, clapping. A bank of blue, purple, red and yellow lights come on at the top of the stage. A kick drum starts. The beat for the next song, the audience gives out a scream, then goes silent. A lone hand clap breaks the silence. Boards start playing, a simple chord. A bass ticks along with the drums, setting the song up. A synth horn plays the melody, repeats then stops, the drum, bass and boards continue to play in harmony. The single handclap continues every 4th beat. The horns start playing the tune again, repeat then stop. Lights go out over the crowd, the silhouette of the stage can now be seen. Horns play then repeat. A lone figure walks onto the stage and stands in front of the mic, doing the last of the handclaps. A Backlight hits him, illuminating him, then a spotlight comes down; Prince is on the stage.
“If I was your girlfriend, would u remember, to tell me all the things u forgot, when I was your man? Hey hey, when I was your man. If I was your best friend, would u let me, take care of you, and do all the things that only best friends can, ohh ohhh, only best friends can, ohhh.” Prince turns from the mic, then returns. Backing vocals come in with Prince “If I was your girlfriend. Shoo shooo oohhh ohh”

“If I was your girlfriend, would u let me dress you? I mean help u pick out your clothes b4 we go out, not that your helpless, but sometimes, sometime those r the things that being in loves about. Ohhh and if I was your one and only friend ohhh, would u run to me? If somebody hurt you, even if that some body was me. Ehh heee ohhh, Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be” Prince pleads into the mic. “Pleeese, owww owww”
Backing vocals with Prince again “If I was your girlfriend. Shooo shooo ohhh, if I was your girlfriend.” Prince takes the mic from the stand and walks to the side, fans hands shoot out, hoping to touch his hand. “Would u let me wash your hair? Can I make u breakfast some time? just hang out little girl, go to the movies then cry together, cause to me baby that would be so fine. Shooo shooo ohhh.”
Backing vocals “If I was your girlfriend”
“Baby can I dress you? I mean help u pick out your clothes b4 we go out?”
Back up “If I was your girlfriend”
“Listen child I ain’t saying you’re helpless, but sometimes, sometimes those are the things that being in loves about”
Back up vocals continue to sing If I was your girlfriend every 5th beat.
“I’m not saying that to be self centered, I just want to be” Prince points to his chest with a thumb. “I just want to be all the things u r 2 me.” He points to an anonymous girl in the audience
A back up singer starts to sing in a high voice. “Shooohhh” she continues this at intervals.
The kick drum come back in more predominant, and horns start playing. Synth keys start playing the tune, flunked up a bit. The handclaps continue. The keys become more intense as they play. Finally there is silence, but for the kick drum and bass. Prince has left the stage, Cat under his arm, the lights go out and the crowd goes wild.
